School Readiness Program

About Our Smart Start Prep Program

Our School Readiness Program is designed specifically for children aged 4–5 years who are preparing to enter kindergarten. This part-time, intensive program focuses on academic skills, language development, communication, and social competence, helping children gain the confidence and abilities they need to thrive in a classroom environment.

The program runs 6 hours per week, delivered in flexible time slots of 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, 12:00 PM–3:00 PM, or 3:00 PM–6:00 PM, allowing families to choose a schedule that fits their needs. Despite being part-time, the program is intensive and highly focused, ensuring that each child makes measurable progress in their early learning skills.

Children learn in small groups of 3-4 students, allowing for individualized attention and personalized support. The small group setting encourages active participation, hands-on learning, and positive social interactions, while giving educators the ability to closely monitor progress and adapt instruction to each child’s unique needs.

School Readiness Goals

The program is designed to help children transition smoothly into kindergarten. Students develop skills such as:

By focusing on these foundational skills, children become confident and prepared for full-time school.

Key Focus Areas

Our curriculum emphasizes early academic skills appropriate for 4–5-year-olds, including:

Through ABA-based strategies, instruction is structured, measurable, and tailored to each child’s abilities, ensuring steady progress in a short amount of weekly hours.

1. Problem-Solving Skills

Through interactive activities and games, children will develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

We guide children to think independently and tackle challenges with curiosity:

  • Logic-building puzzles and hands-on brain games
  • Pattern-making and sequencing activities
  • Open-ended challenges that build confidence in making decisions

Puzzles, brain teasers, and collaborative challenges are incorporated to encourage exploration and experimentation.

2. Group and Classroom Routine Skills

Children will learn essential routines and classroom behaviors, such as following directions, taking turns, and completing tasks independently.

Children learn to navigate classroom life with ease:

  • Practicing clear routines — from cubby organization to group clean-up

Classroom jobs and responsibilities will be assigned to promote a sense of responsibility and routine.

3. Social and Play Skills

Language and communication are at the core of the program. Our program emphasizes the development of social skills, including cooperation, and conflict resolution. Children:

  • Develop expressive and receptive language skills
  • Learn to communicate effectively with peers and teachers
  • Practice conversational skills, following instructions, and storytelling

Social skills are integrated into all activities, helping children cooperate, interact positively, and feel confident in a group setting.
